Extended wear lenses

These can be worn for weeks at a time before being removed.

Rigid gas permeable contacts

These generally give clearer vision than traditional soft lenses.

These lenses are worn overnight to correct mild to moderate vision problems.

Colored contact lenses

These lenses change or enhance the color of your eyes.

Northern San Antonio Optometrist Talks Contact Lens Care

Each variety of contact lenses has their own method of cleaning. When you come in to get fitted for your new contacts, our northern San Antonio optometrist will teach you all about how to clean and care for your lenses. These are some general rules for cleaning all lenses:

  • Wash your hands and rinse them well before cleaning your lenses
  • Always use fresh solution. Reusing solution can spread germs that cause infection
  • Use the correct cleaning solution, not saline solution, to clean your contact lenses
  • Rub your contacts with your fingers, then rinse them with cleaning solution afterward
